Be and Do Questions: When to Use

Please use the "Do" Questions when there's an action

For "Be" Verb questions, use for 기간, 시간, 장소 (location), and adjectives

Basic Questions:

When you ask a question, we’ll start off with the Do verb questions and the Be verb questions.

Please look at the handout. In it you will see boxes, it means that it isn’t always necessary.

Let’s look at the “Do” questions:

Present tense:

When do you eat dinner?

Where do you watch movies?

Where do you drink?

Do you like bodybuilders?

Past tense:

Did you meet your girlfriends?

When did you drink?

Who did you drink with?

Where did you see MI 3?

Do you drink?

Now, let’s look at the “Be” questions:

Present tense:

Who is your favorite singer?

Is 장동근 your favorite actor?

Who is your account executive?

How is the music?

How is your family?

Past tense:

Were you late today?

How was the meeting?

Was the meeting boring?

Where was the show?
