Vocabulary:

1. Billing Cycle: The opening and closing date of when a charge will show up on a statement.

Example Sentence:

Most offices have a 30 day billing cycle.

Please set our billing cycle for 30 days.

Please set up a 90 day billing cycle.

Dialogue:

What is your billing cycle?

Our billing cycle is from the 12th of the month to the 11th of the next month and it will be due on the 23rd.

2. Grace Period: Time given to credit card holders where interest does not accrue.

Example Sentence:

Our company offers a 3 day grace period from the payment due date.

Our company does not offer a grace period.

Landlords give a 5 day grace period for rent payment.

Dialogue:

Do you have a grace period for cash advances?
Yes, if you pay it off within 3 days, you won’t have to pay interest.

3. Issue: A small problem, disagreement.

Example Sentence:

There’s a double billing issue on my statement.

I don’t have an issue with your grace period.

Are there more issues to resolve?

Dialogue:

I have an issue with the latest statement?

How would you like us to solve the issue?

4. Resolve: To work out a problem.

Example Sentence:

We will resolve your issue by close of business today.

I hope we resolved your issue.

Dialogue:

Did you resolve the issue with the Kim account?

Yes, we resolved it this afternoon.

5. Resolution: The act of resolving.

Example Sentence:

Did we find a resolution to the dispute?

There’s no need for a resolution.

Let’s find a resolution.

Dialogue:

Is there a resolution for the Kim account?

I’m sorry, we can’t seem to find a resolution to his issues.
